Summer time is ART time at Roaring Mouse Creative Arts Studio! Nestled into the Ravenna neighborhood, our sweet studio offers a variety of opportunities to explore music, drama, and art with specialized camps for preschoolers through elementary age kids.

Summer Palette Mini-Day Camps

Option 1:
Days: Tuesday-Thursday Mornings (3 days)
Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm, Ages: 2.5-5
Cost: $155

Option 2:
Days: Monday-Thursday Afternoons (4 days)
Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm, Ages: 4-8
Cost: $195

Our popular Summer Palette Mini-Day Camps features time for play and art plus plenty of opportunities to experiment with different materials. Each week, students will explore a different theme and leave camp with unique creations that they can keep playing with at home well after camp ends. Sessions include playtime and a snack. Parents provide snack for their own child.

Summer Creative Arts

Days: Mondays and/or Fridays Mornings

Each session of Creative Arts Camp will be taught by two teachers from our preschool teaching team: Raven, Jesse, Arika, and Jessica (our Education Director). Click here to learn more about them.

In Creative Arts Camp, children will explore their creativity through a variety of experiences in music, drama, and art! Students experiment with painting, drawing, sculpture, and collage in an informal introduction to art. Sessions include playtime and a snack. Parents provide snack for their own child. Summer Palette Mini-Day Camps

Summer Art Splash.
Mornings: July 1-3, 9:00AM - 1:00PM, Ages 3-7. Teachers: Cheryl and Ellie. Kickstart your summer with a whirlwind of fun, creative art projects bound to paint your summer full of fun! Please pack a snack and lunch for your camper. (Note: This camp has a different schedule and tuition than all of the other Summer Palette camps. It meets Monday through Wednesday and the cost is $195 after May 1.)


Whimsies & Dioramas.  Mornings: July 9-11.  Afternoons: July 8-11. Teachers: Cheryl and Ellie. Using fabric scraps, tiny boxes, bits of nature and other imaginative items, children will make their very own hand-sculpted figures called Whimsies.  They will also build a miniature world of wonder where their Whimsies will live.  Each camper needs to bring a shoe box to the first day of camp.  Parents are invited to view our Whimsies Village at 3:45 on Thursday, July 11. >> BOTH AM & PM SESSIONS ARE FULL

Art Ninjas.  Mornings: July 16-18. Afternoons: July 15-18. Teachers: Cheryl and Ellie. Prepare to combine your crafty creativity with sneaky stealth! We will spend the week making a wide range of beautiful 2D and 3D artworks, but that's just the beginning. Each day, we will venture out of our crafting sessions to place some secret projects in and around school to create delightful surprises for our community. You will also make plenty of covert crafts to sneak home in order to amaze and delight your family with unexpected art. >> BOTH AM & PM SESSIONS ARE FULL


Art Lab: Inventions.  Mornings: July 23-25. Teacher: Jesse. | Afternoons: July 22-25. Teacher: Jane. This camp takes the child’s innate curiosity and brings it to a new level with explorations, experiments and art projects designed to let kids delve deeper into how and why things work. Each day, we will solve problems using creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. Whether their inventions float or fly, dig or dive, they are sure to leave camp with new ideas and ways of looking at the world.


Scribe Tribe:  Puppets.  Mornings: July 30-August 1. Teacher: Sayuri. | Afternoons: July 29-August 1. Teacher: Jane Using found objects, paper and natural materials, we will build puppets and write stories to create a magical performance of wonder and delight.  A brief show for parents will be presented at 3:45 on Thursday, August 1. 

Enchanted Forests.  Mornings: August 6-8. Teacher: Jesse | Afternoons: August 5-8. Teacher: Jane.  Take a hike into your own imagination!  Campers will design a home for an enchanted forest friend - gnomes, trolls, fairies, pixies, leprechauns and more. Together will we create a woodland filled with magical creatures, forest animals, and wonder galore. >> BOTH AM & PM SESSIONS ARE FULL


Artist’s Choice: Mix It Up!  Mornings: August 13-15. Teacher: Raven. |  Afternoons: August 12-15. Teacher: Shirley.  Through sculpture, collage, printmaking and painting, your child will learn the basic principles of art in a playful, tactile way. Using materials such as clay, pastels, paint, and paper, we will explore colors, textures, and emotions and make a variety of inspiring art pieces. >> BOTH AM & PM SESSIONS ARE FULL

Costumes:  Dress It Up!  Mornings: August 20-22. Teacher: Jesse. | Afternoons: August 19-22. Teacher: Jane. Reams of fabric, paper, odds and ends, become the stuff that dreams are made of!  Campers will have the opportunity to design and construct costumes and accessories.  Enjoy a fashion show for parents at 3:45 on Thursday, August 22. >> PM SESSION IS FULL

Artists of the Heart. Mornings: August 27-29, AGES 2.5-4.  Afternoons: August 26-29, AGES 4-6. Teachers: our preschool teaching team. In this camp, students will be guided in a creative exploration of friendship, feelings and communication through group art projects, cooperative games, individual and collaborative story writing, which will then be brought to life through dance, drama, and puppetry. (Note: This camp is designed for different ages than the other Summer Palette camps. The morning camp is geared toward preschool students and the afternoon is geared toward pre-k students and those entering kindergarten.)
