Summer Palette Mini Day Camps Register

Roaring Mouse’s ever popular Summer Mini-Palette day camps are offered in the afternoons—Monday through Thursday from 1-4pm—in July and August. Be sure to sign up early! Spots fill quickly!

Note: Register for two or more weeks and receive $5 off per additional week.

Whimsies & Dioramas

  • July 7 – 10
  • 1:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Ages 4 – 7
  • Cheryl Carder and Madeline McCarthy

Using fabric scraps, tiny boxes, bits of nature and other imaginative items, children will make their very own hand-sculpted figures called Whimsies. They will also build a miniature world of wonder where their Whimsies will live. Each camper needs to bring a shoe box to the first day of camp.

Explore It, Imagine It, Build It

  • July 14 – 17
  • 1:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Ages 5 – 8
  • Cheryl Carder and Madeline McCarthy

Explore the power of energy! Through investigation and experimentation we will discover volcanoes, catapults and motion. We will build motors and cars, and launch simple rockets, kits and planes. Campers will put it all together in their imaginations, come up with their own one-of-a-kind idea, plan it, draw it and build it.

Artist’s Choice

  • July 21 – 24
  • 1:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Ages 5 – 8
  • Kristy Carlile and Madeline McCarthy

Dive into creativity with this fun and exhilarating camp for the artist who craves to explore, construct, invent and collaborate freely to make new and innovative works of art. Guaranteed to spark the imagination.

Scribe Tribe: Puppets

  • July 28 – 31
  • 1:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Ages 4 – 7
  • Cheryl Carder and Madeline McCarthy

Using found objects, paper and natural materials, we will build puppets and write stories to create a magical performance of wonder and delight. Half hour show for parents at 3:30 on Thursday, July 31.

Nature Art

  • August 4 – 7
  • 1:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Ages 5 – 8
  • Madeline McCarthy and Cheryl Carder

What can nature tell us about art? How can we learn to see and interpret the innate beauty of the world? With nature as our guide, students will explore using natural materials, design elements from nature, and their imagination to create unique and earth friendly masterpieces!

Costumes: Dress It Up!

  • August 11 – 14
  • 1:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Ages 4 – 7
  • Cheryl Carder and Madeline McCarthy

Reams of fabric, paper, odds and ends, become the stuff that dreams are made of! Campers will have the opportunity to design and construct costumes. Half hour fashion show for parents at 3:30 on Thursday, August 14.

Artists of the Heart

  • August 18 – 21
  • 1:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Ages 5 & 6
  • Kristy Carlile and Cheryl Carder

Camps & Workshops in Other Seasons

Holiday Gift Making is a long standing tradition at Roaring Mouse. These workshops have been offered since before we even had a studio, usually taking place at local elementary schools. Holiday Gift Making (HGM) classes are now offered every year in December, giving your child a chance to discover the joy of making and giving gifts to the people they love.

Roaring Mouse occasionally offers camps during school breaks. Please check our current schedule to see if any camps are available!
