With so many schools in a budget crunch, arts programs are getting whittled down to a tiny fraction of your child’s school experience. Along with an increased demand on product, performance, accountability and standards, it is hard to imagine where kids will have a chance to relax, sink into their own rhythm and do the creative things they intuitively need to do. Roaring Mouse has an answer for this dilemma with two new after school programs! “Open Studio” is the ultimate in kid created art time. Taught by our beloved Roaring Mouse teacher, Cheryl Carder, these classes will give your child the time, space, materials and guidance to explore ideas, build skills and confidence, and of course, be creative. Open Studio is offered on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, from 4:30 – 6:00 for kids ages 4- 8. “Anyone Can Be An Artist” is an exciting new opportunity for students who are ready for taking their creativity to a new level. Taught by artist and Roaring Mouse teacher, Flint Crumpacker, this class covers a broad range of techniques, materials and ideas in that are formative and lifelong lessons in art. Experiences include drawing three dimensional objects, figure and self-portrait, and abstract approaches in drawing, a variety of painting mediums, collage, and clay sculpting. Anyone Can Be An Artist is offered on Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 4:30 – 6:00. Two great ways to support your child’s creativity!
